Standon House Tamworth and Standon Gardens (our Supported Living Apartments) are located on Ashby Road in Tamworth. The area is primarily residential, with a mix of houses and apartments. Several bus routes serve the area well, with stops along Ashby Road and nearby streets, providing easy access to the town centre and other areas of Tamworth. Ashby Road is a quiet area, surrounded by green spaces, including the Tamworth Castle Grounds and Wigginton Park, which provide peaceful spots for residents to enjoy. Within 5 miles of Ashby Road, several landmarks and attractions may be of interest to you and your family when they visit. These include Tamworth Castle, a 900-year-old castle that now houses a museum and events venue, and Drayton Manor Theme Park, which features rides, attractions, and a zoo. Other nearby attractions include the National Memorial Arboretum, a beautiful and peaceful site dedicated to honouring the memory of fallen service personnel, and the historic town of Lichfield, which boasts a stunning cathedral and a variety of shops and restaurants. Founded in 1985 by Valerie and David Jefferies, Standon House Tamworth is our family-owned and operated care home has grown over nearly four decades from a 9-bed home to one with 31 registered beds. Having always wanted to give back to the community and start a care home, the misfortune of being made redundant was the perfect opportunity. They invested everything they had into purchasing and converting our original property into a care home. As time passed, they acquired the neighbouring property and expanded it into the care home that stands here today. In addition to our care home services, we have developed 25 supported living apartments on site in the beautiful Standon Gardens. These buildings were completed around 2010 and have been home for many residents since then.
